A Rare Sight in Sembawang Estate

I spotted this when I was on my way to school...
Can you make out what it is?

YOG Day

11 Aug was YOG day:) School started at 1.30 p.m. 6A had to go through 3 game stations, collecting points on their score card.

Royston and Irfan were the dribblers of the class; dribbling their ball past skittles under 10s:)

Farah and Stanley represented our school to be the torchbearers for the inauguaral YOG. Imagine the pride they, their parents, teachers and friends have?! They are part of Singapore's history. 6A also participated in this historical event as we witnessed the torch relay:)

Journal by Zhu Deng

About a month ago, YMCA invited me to be the Master-of-Ceremony for the 4th YMCA Mandarin Speaking Competition-Finals for the Lower Primary and Upper Primary categories.
All contestants were extremely nervous. I encouraged them at the backstage and most of them felt better after my encouragement.
After this experience, I concluded that being MC is really easier as compared to being a contestants though both require me to stand on the stage. The pressure on a MC is definitely less than the contestant’s.
I want to thank Endeavour, my teachers and friends for their support.

Kindness Begets Kindness

April is Kindness Movement Month. Activities were crafted for the pupils by the Pupil Welfare Development. 6A were shown a video on how simple acts can be to spread kindness. Spreading kindness is like eating chocolates while on holidays :) They were given stickers to thank their friends for being kind. (See pictures for their enthusiasm in thanking their pals :)) Irfan was spotted with many stickers on him. I am sure he is proud of himself :) I am very proud of 6A ^_^. Continue to encourage one another, darlings :)

The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein

My Reflections on The Giving Tree

Personally, I love this story. Every time I read this story to my own children, it sets me to reflect on human nature. We like to receive but we tend to be "stingy" to give. Giving does not equate to giving extravagant gifts. We can give praises, encouragement, thumbs-up, which are FREE, to spread love around.
A friend of mine shared this with me many years ago... Do we want to be the beggar that receives or be the one that gives? Ponder...

Earth Hour 2010

Did anyone observe the earth hour from 2030 to 2130 yesterday? What were you doing then?
I was not at home during the earth hour. My son kept reminding me about it though. I would like you to share some thoughts about it with me. Why do you think there is a need for it? Is one hour enough? Who came up with this ingenious idea? How else can we further save our gaia?

End of CA 1

Now that CA 1 has ended, have you reflected on your performance? Do remember the ultimate goal in a primary school is PSLE. CA 1 is a good training platform to gauge your level. For those who have satisfactory performance, keep it up. Set a higher goal. For those who have not, revisit the areas that you are weak in and see what you can do during the March holidays. DO NOT despair.... Have great faith and believe in yourself:)

Rainbow Day 1

Yesterday, we had our first Rainbow Day. P3A, 3B, 3E, 3F, 5A, 5B and 6A performed. We also had special performances by children from Singapore School for the Deaf. Most of the pupils in 6A were touched by their performances and wanted to see more of them in future.
I am very proud of 6A. Y ou helped to look for an item (Thanks to Chao Yuan and Ming Jun), taught your friends to dance (Thanks to the 10 boys who stayed behind to learn) and also showed enthusiasm in the item. Great job, 6A! Keep the spirit high :)
Once your video is ready, I will upload it in the blog :)
