Did anyone observe the earth hour from 2030 to 2130 yesterday? What were you doing then?
I was not at home during the earth hour. My son kept reminding me about it though. I would like you to share some thoughts about it with me. Why do you think there is a need for it? Is one hour enough? Who came up with this ingenious idea? How else can we further save our gaia?

yes.My parents need to use some electricity so we switch off when we need not to use.I think we can use candle the whole day as we can still use the remaining wax that had been melted.

I did'nt saw any difference in my grandmothers house as my grandmother's house has all my relatives inside. We acted normally.(I felt quite guilty about that)I think we as a world should practice this by ourselves once in a while. If I'm not wrong,it was Sydney which started this earth hour.
ReplyDeletewhat are you talkin about your grandmother house?
ReplyDeleteI did not switch off the light as I was playing computer games... guilty about that. I think we should have a set date for the earth hour so it would not confuse people(I was confused) I think we should do it for 1 week for 1 hour. WWF and The Sydney Morning Herald started this event in 2007,where 2.2 million residents participated in this event, which means what Salifian stated was the truth.
ReplyDeleteI did switch off all the lights at home to save electricity. I cannot understand that why the advertisement says 60 earth hour, I thaught it was 60 hour to switch of your light so i did!!!
ReplyDeletei did not see the earth hour ok
ReplyDeleteYes,I participated in the Earth hour. About 8 p.m.,I was eating and my parents and I didn't knew when is the Earth hour starts. Then,we checked the net and found out it was from 8.30p.m. to 9.30p.m.I think that 1 hour is not enough.Maybe,a week twice??? The Earth hour idea came from The Sydney Morning Herald and WWF.
ReplyDeleteI did not switch off my lights as my father needs to work.
ReplyDeleteI switched off the lights at8pm that dayand used candles instead. It was boring during that hour.I tried to listen to my walkman but it required electricity!I think that 1 hour is not enough.Maybe,we could practise it for an hour per day? A WWF worker in Sydney who came up with the idea of Earth Hour in a pub with friends.
